Did you know that there are discounted admission days for Legoland California Resort?
There are three that I know of: Celebrate Carlsbad Days at Legoland ($20 admission per person); Kid’s College’s Community Days at Legoland ($20 admission per person); and Legoland California Resort’s Home School Days ($25 admission per person). Add $6 dollars to that price and you can also gain entry to the neighboring Sealife Aquarium.
What’s the catch?
These days are predetermined between the fundraising committees (City of Carlsbad’s Carlsbad Educational Foundation; Kid’s College’s administrative) and Legoland California, so there is no flexibility of when you can go. You must go at the specified date and purchase the tickets well in advance. If, for example, you have already purchased the tickets and you cannot attend due to an emergency, you will not get a discount or a raincheck. Secondly, since these are fundraising efforts, so you can obtain these tickets ahead of time through the Carlsbad Educational Foundation or Kid’s College.
This deal is similar for the Home School Program. For the Home School discount, you contact Legoland directly but, again, you can only go to Legoland at the discounted rate at the predetermined date, at at least two weeks in advance, as set by Legoland personnel. Secondarily, and more importantly, you have to prove that you are a legitimate California Home School participant or part of a California Home School group. Legoland California website give these examples as valid proof: “verification of membership in a public or private school, independent study or satellite program, CA private school affidavit, or homeschool organization such as K-12 or CAVA”.
Is it worth waiting for these days before making the trip down to Carlsbad?
Yes!
These days usually fall on the weekend or near the kid’s scheduled Spring Break. You have a bargaining chip for when the kids misbehave. You also have an anticipated exciting vacation to look forward to as a family for those who have angelic children. You save lots of money while helping the local charity organizations raise funds for their community. Lastly, and most importantly, you will build long lasting family memories.
Did I also mention that you will have loads of fun? Or at least you will be happy when you see the smiles on your kids’ faces.
Everyone wins!
