Lifeguard Tower 26/Santa Monica Beach

“Tower 26” is a small section of Santa Monica State Beach off Barnard Way, just south of Ocean Park Boulevard, in Santa Monica. It is is one of the local hangouts we frequent when we are blessed with the last days of Daylight Savings before the “Fall Back” time switch, coupled with the wonderful Southern California weather and the rare time to relax after a hard day’s work.

This section of Santa Monica Beach also offers one of the few visitor- and wallet-friendly short term parking lots in the City. We often park here and pay $4 for an afternoon of water play, which is perfect for when the kids just started the school year, the sun is out and the homework assignments have yet to be distributed.

We were able to witness this local homage to 9/11. Simply breathtaking.

The sunset is always a treat for this California Native. However, once the sun goes down, everyone knows it is time to pack up and go home. Until next time…
